The car

A Chevelle with the big-block. The 396 was the smallest of the Chevrolet big-block family and the one that made the intermediate body a straight-line car: 325 hp and 410 lb·ft, a four-barrel Rochester, and a chassis that was never designed for either. The SS 396 package brought the domed bonnet, the black tail panel and heavy-duty springs, and the car in the photograph wears the single headlamps of the 1967 face rather than the four of the year before.
